Boston Real Estate Back Bay
As a 20 year resident I can say emphatically that Back Bay is the premiere neighborhood for Boston MA Homes. Located on the Charles River, Boston Back Bay condos can provide a breathtaking view of Boston's skyline as well as the beautiful Charles River. However, Back Bay provides more housing options than just condos. There are Victorian brownstones, beautiful townhouses, and towering commercial properties. Back Bay's popularity only begins in the diversity of the real estate. There's a beautiful charm to the architecture. Tree-lined avenues and convenient access to Beacon Hill, South End, Brookline and Cambridge all add to why Boston condos are in high demand.
There is also high-end shopping available in Back Bay. Near the Boston Public Garden one will find Newbury and Boylston Streets. These streets serve as a home for some of the best shopping in Boston. Copley Place is home to the first Neiman Marcus store, as well as numerous hotels. Prudential Tower has a skywalk observatory that cradles a breath-taking view of Boston and the Charles River.

Boston Back Bay Condos
Back Bay received its name because it was literally the "Back Bay" for Boston. Development of Back Bay began in 1815 with the construction of a dam that's currently under Beacon Street. This one act enabled Back Bay to be filled with earth from Beacon Hill and become the glorious place that it is today. Buying a Back Bay condo can put someone in the middle of cultural history while enjoying all of modern life.
There are several historical churches; Trinity Church and Old South Church are just two in the Back Bay area. The historic Boston Public Library is also in Copley Place. Once one adds the modern benefits of shopping and commercial resources, Back Bay becomes a special place that few other metropolitan areas can compete with. The charm of Back Bay is so cherished by the people who live there that they've formed a special non-profit organization called NABB (Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay) that strives to, combat community problems and deterioration, to preserve and protect the architectural beauty of the Back Bay, and to further Back Bay's residential character." Buying a Back Bay condo or home and joining NABB further enhances one's life in Back Bay. NABB hosts book discussions and wine events. |

Back Bay is known for its amazing shopping district. Newbury Street and Boylston Streets is where you will find some of the best shopping in the area. Back Bay also is home to luxury hotels, including the brand new Mandarin Oriental, The Colonnade Hotel, Westin Copley Place, Fairmont Copley Plaza, and the Marriott Copley.
The Copley Square area is the eastern nexus of a system of hotels and shopping centers connected by a set of glassed-in pedestrian overpasses. The system of overpasses extends over half a mile the Prudential Center and the shops surrounding it. The Prudential Skywalk observatory offers wonderful views of Back Bay, Boston, and surrounding areas.
Running parallel to Back Bay is the beautiful Charles River Esplanade where the Hatch Shell hosts the Boston Pops as well as other entertainment. Also on the Esplanade is Community Boating where for a really small fee you can learn to sail. All classes are free with experienced volunteer teachers.
