Cambridge Friends School (PK-8)
Cambridge Friends School is a co-educational elementary school that was established in 1961 under the care of Friends Meeting at Cambridge, Religious Society of Friends.
It is the mission of Cambridge Friends School to provide an outstanding education. Guided by Quaker principles, we engage students in meaningful academic learning within a caring community strongly committed to social justice. We expect all students to develop their intellectual, physical, creative, and spiritual potential and, through the example of their lives, to challenge oppression and to contribute to justice and understanding in the world.
Cambridge Montessori School (PK-6)
In a Montessori classroom, every exercise, every method and every piece of equipment takes advantage of a child’s inherent desire to learn. Children are free to work in groups or on their own. They may sit at a table or move about the room. Here, the curriculum and teachers’ role are all carefully designed to honor self-paced growth while encouraging social cooperation.
In our classrooms every day, students practice activities in practical skills, math, language, science, history, geography, art, writing and music. Every day, children and adults honor kindness, compassion, mutual respect and peace.
North Cambridge Catholic High School (9-12)
North Cambridge Catholic is the first school in the United States to convert a 4-year, co-educational high school to the Cristo Rey model, and we are thriving.
We have 72 companies who currently employ all 265 students in full-time, entry-level, job-sharing positions. Our students are young professionals, earning more than half the cost of their education and experiencing the real world under the leadership of corporate role models. This unique approach to educating our young people has been proven to lower dropout rates and increase graduation and college attendance rates. In 2005, 95% of our seniors graduated, and each one was accepted into college! In 2006, The Gates Foundation recognized North Cambridge High School for 100% college acceptance.
Fayerweather Street School (PK-8)
Fayerweather is a co-educational independent day school enrolling about 205 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.
The school was founded in 1967 by parents and educators interested in exploring alternatives in schooling. You will recognize those original values in the school today. |
